What determines the quality of an ejaculation?

The composition of your ejaculation is important for successful fertilization:

  • the amount of sperm in the ejaculation and its acidity
  • the number of sperm cells per milliliter and the total number of sperm cells per ejaculation
  • the quality of the sperm cells such as shape, motility and vitality

Enough happy swimmers with a healthy tail, a healthy head and the will to go to the goal protected by an alkaline environment for as long as possible is what it comes down to.

Semen quality standards!

It is true! There are quality standards for semen. The World Health Organization (WHO) developed this.

They adhere to the following standard:

  • minimum volume per ejaculation 2 milliliters.
  • at least 20 million sperm cells per milliliter or a total of 40 million sperm cells per ejaculation.
  • more than 50% of these must be living, well-mobile sperm cells.
  • and 30% of the sperm cells must have a “normal” shape.
  • In addition, the acidity must be good (pH around 7.5, so basic)

Semen contains a high level of omega-3

The largest concentrations of DHA are found in your brain, nerve cells, the retina of your eyes and... as building block of your sperm cells .

Make sure your omega-3 index is in order. This index indicates the percentage of omega-3 fatty acids that are built into the cell wall of your body cells. Depending on your current status, 1-2000 mg omega-3 is sufficient to bring your index between 8 and 11%. Read more here about the importance and background of the omega-3 index.
